Step-by-Step Installation Process

The Standard CNC Machine Installation Workflow

Receiving & Inspection

Inspect the crate for damage before signing, photograph any issues, move to site with a forklift, and open per instructions without cutting into the crate.

Positioning

Remove protective film and oil, lift only at marked points, place on foundation with ≥800 mm clearance, and install vibration-damping pads or anchor bolts.

Leveling

Use a precision level to achieve ≤0.02 mm/m, tighten anchor bolts in a cross pattern, and recheck level after 24 hours of settling.

Electrical Connection

Verify 380V/3-phase incoming power, connect per wiring diagram and ground to facility earth, but do not power on yet.

Lubrication & Cooling

Fill spindle lubricant, way oil, coolant tank, and hydraulic oil (if applicable) to their specified levels.

Power-On & Commissioning

Power on and check for alarms, run controller self-test, home all axes, perform a 30-minute no-load run, execute a test program, and inspect the finish.

Operator Training

SZGHTECH engineer trains operators on safety, G-code, setup, and maintenance; trainees perform supervised operation before training sign-off.

Production Acceptance

Run the first production part, verify tolerances, sign acceptance documents, and transition to ongoing remote support.

Total typical timeline: 3–7 days for a single CNC machine · 2–4 weeks for integrated CNC + Robot cell

Special Considerations for Robot Arm Installation

1

Anchor strength is critical

Robot bases must be anchored to concrete with M16 chemical anchors per spec
2

Reach envelope clearance

Maintain robot working envelope clearance per drawing
3

Safety fencing required

for industrial 6-axis robots (cobots are exempt subject to risk assessment)
4

Cable management

Use cable trays; avoid sharp bends or interference with moving parts

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quickly find the answers you care about
  • Q Is welding robot installation different from CNC?

    A
Yes. Robot installation focuses on anchor strength, reach envelope clearance, safety fencing (for industrial robots), cable management, and TCP calibration. We provide robot-specific installation guides and our engineers commission the welding torch / gripper integration.

  • Q Can our own electricians connect the machine?

    A
Yes, qualified electricians can perform the power connection following our wiring diagrams. The machine ships with documentation; our engineer can remotely verify the connection before first power-on.

  • Q What foundation does a SZGH-46J CNC lathe need?

    A
SZGH-46J requires a concrete C30 foundation, minimum 200 mm thick, leveled to ±1 mm/m. Floor loading capacity should be at least 3,500 kg. We provide detailed foundation drawings before shipment.

  • Q Do you send engineers to install the machine on-site?

    A
Yes, on-site engineering support is available globally. Engineer-Assisted Install (5–7 days) and Turn-Key Integration (longer) tiers include on-site commissioning. For self-install, we provide free remote support via video call.

  • Q How long does it take to install a SZGH CNC machine?

    A
A standard CNC lathe or milling machine takes 3–5 days from delivery to first production part, including foundation positioning, electrical connection, leveling, commissioning, and basic operator training. Integrated CNC + Robot cells typically take 2–4 weeks.
