A tractor manufacturing plant in Turkey deployed the SZGH H1500-B-6 six-axis welding robot paired with an OTC 500A water-cooled welding power source to replace manual welding of tractor components — cutting per-part welding time, eliminating operator-dependent quality variation, and making true batch production of welded parts possible for the first time.
Our client is a tractor manufacturing factory in Turkey that covers the complete production chain — from machining individual components and parts, through sub-assembly, to final tractor assembly and whole-unit sales.
Welding sits at the center of their production. Nearly every structural part of a tractor — frames, brackets, linkages, mounting structures — passes through the welding shop. For years, every weld was made by hand.
Two problems kept getting worse as order volumes grew.
1. Manual welding was too slow. Skilled welders can only maintain quality at a limited pace. When production schedules tightened, welding became the bottleneck that held up the entire assembly line downstream.
2. Weld quality was inconsistent. Even experienced welders produce different bead profiles, penetration depths, and defect rates across a shift — and even bigger differences between welders. The result: rework, scrap, and unpredictable quality reaching customers, all of which eroded the factory's delivery reliability and cost control.

The 1,500 mm reach comfortably covers the range of tractor components in their production mix. The fully enclosed axis design protects joints and internal cables from spatter and dust — critical for a welding cell running production hours every day. The water-cooled OTC 500A source sustains stable, high-duty-cycle output for long continuous welds on structural steel parts without overheating.
Equally important, SZGH provided commissioning support and operator training so the factory's own welding team — not outside engineers — could program, run, and maintain the cell.
Welding moved from a bottleneck to a batch process. Parts that previously went through the welding shop one careful manual weld at a time are now welded in batches, with the robot running consistent cycles at production speed.
Quality became a constant, not a variable. Every weld now follows the same programmed parameters — identical travel speed, wire feed, arc characteristics — across every part, every shift, every day. Weld quality no longer depends on which welder is on duty or how many hours they've already worked. The variation between the best and worst welder disappeared from the product entirely.
