Position feedback — also called position verification or actual position readback — means the controller continuously compares the commanded axis position with the actual encoder feedback in real time. If an axis deviates from its commanded position due to load variation, vibration, or servo lag, the system detects the discrepancy and compensates rather than continuing to machine on an incorrect trajectory. For precision turning centers, automated equipment, and any application where undetected axis error directly affects part quality or machine safety, position feedback is the primary technical reason to select the TDc-4 over the TDc-3.
Absolute encoders retain the exact axis position in memory after the machine is powered down — no homing cycle is required when the machine is restarted. For turning centers running production shifts, eliminating the homing sequence at every startup saves measurable setup time and removes a potential source of operator error.
4-axis control — X/Z plus two additional controlled axes for sub-spindle, Y-axis, tailstock servo, or rotary axis integration; supports configurations including X/Z/C/Y and X/Z/A/B
Position feedback — real-time closed-loop position verification on each axis; detects and compensates for axis deviation under load
Absolute encoder support — axis positions are retained after power-down; no re-homing required at machine startup
2ms interpolation — high-speed interpolation cycle for smooth, precise axis motion and improved surface finish on turned and contoured features
Open PLC (editable online/offline) — customize machine logic, interlocks, and I/O sequences without proprietary software; accessible to your machine builders and maintenance engineers
USB DNC (Direct Numerical Control) + macro program — run large or complex programs directly from a USB flash drive; build custom fixed cycles using the macro programming environment to reduce per-part programming time
The TDc-4 inherits the full turret, threading, and spindle capability of the TDc platform:
ATC (Automatic Tool Changer) support — compatible with four turret types: Electric, Binary, Servo, and Special; covers the full range of powered and non-powered turret configurations used on CNC lathes and turning centers
Dual threading modes — Following Mode and Interpolate Mode; supports standard and complex thread forms including taper threading and variable-pitch threads
Dual analog spindle (0–10V) — two independent analog spindle outputs for two-spindle turning center configurations (main spindle + sub-spindle)
See the SZGH-CNC1000TDc-3 for full turret and threading specification detail.
The SZGH-CNC1000TDc-4 suits any turning machine or automation cell that requires four independently controlled axes. Common applications:
Application | Why 4-Axis Suits This |
X/Z/C + tailstock or sub-spindle axis; enables complex turning sequences in a single setup | |
CNC Turning Center | Full 4-axis turning center with live tooling, Y-axis, or sub-spindle control |
Complex OEM Lathe Build | Custom 4-axis machine configurations requiring position feedback and absolute encoder for production reliability |
Automation Equipment | 4th axis assigned to loading/unloading robot arm or rotary indexer integration |
