The T1850-D-6 is SZGH's first T-Series model to cross into the medium-heavy payload bracket. At 20 kg, it handles cast-iron components, automotive structural parts, and engineering forgings that are too heavy for standard 10–15 kg models, yet still require the complex path precision that dedicated palletising robots cannot deliver.
A 1,850 mm maximum reach enables a single robot to service two adjacent machine stations without repositioning. In automotive body-part cells or foundry lines, this eliminates the second robot arm otherwise needed for part transfer between adjacent fixtures, directly reducing capital expenditure.
The T1850-D-6 maintains ±0.08 mm positional repeatability even at full 20 kg load and maximum extension — a critical specification for machine-tending tasks such as inserting cast parts into CNC fixtures, placing components in jigs, or transferring parts to CMM conveyors where dimensional tolerance matters.
Wrist-axis speeds of 222°/sec ensure the end-of-arm tooling reorients rapidly between pick and place positions. In casting-line applications running 300–600 pieces per shift, this wrist agility can shorten cycle time by 8–12% compared to slower mid-range competitors, sustaining throughput even as payload increases.
All three mounting modes are factory-supported without hardware modification. Ceiling-mount configuration is particularly valuable in constrained casting cells where floor space is occupied by conveyors, while bracket mounting supports elevated machine-tending positions on machining centres.

By Fannie Chen, CEO, Shenzhen Guanhong Automation Co., Ltd.
When our sales team first received the inquiry from Mohamed's foundry outside Cairo, the message was blunt: "We have had three workers hospitalised in six months from lifting cast-iron parts. We need a solution — fast."
The facility produces grey-iron engine brackets. Each raw casting comes off the mold at 15–18 kg, still warm, with rough flash edges. Workers were manually picking them from the mold-exit chute, carrying them to a deburring station five metres away, then placing them on a transfer conveyor — hundreds of cycles per shift, every day. The ergonomic risk was obvious. The injury rate was unacceptable.
We recommended the T1850-D-6 precisely because of that 20 kg payload margin and the 1,850 mm reach. The robot was floor-mounted at the mold-exit point. With a custom heat-tolerant parallel gripper, it picks each casting directly from the chute, follows a three-segment path to present the part to the deburring spindle, holds it in position during the deburring cycle (the integrated force-torque loop manages that), then transfers the finished part to the conveyor. The entire path is approximately 1.6 metres end-to-end — comfortably within the robot's reach envelope.
Results after three months of continuous operation: zero handling-related injuries, a 25% increase in castings processed per shift (cycle time dropped from 52 seconds per part to 38 seconds), and the two reassigned workers were retrained for quality inspection roles. Mohamed wrote to me personally: "The machine does not get tired. My workers are safe. Production is up. This is what automation should look like."
That case, more than the specifications, is why we designed the T1850-D-6 as SZGH's first 20 kg T-Series model.
The T1850-D-6 is designed to pair with SZGH's matched CNC Robot Controller series. Key integration capabilities include:
Teach pendant programming — 7-inch colour touchscreen, intuitive path teaching with point-to-point and continuous path modes
I/O interface — standard digital I/O for PLC integration (SIEMENS, Mitsubishi, Omron compatible)
Bus communication — EtherCAT / PROFIBUS / DeviceNet options available
Vision integration — compatible with 2D/3D vision guidance for random part picking from bins or conveyors
External axis support — servo-driven positioner or linear track can be added as Axis 7
Safety — dual-channel E-stop, area scanner input, safety-rated reduced speed mode (IEC 62061 compliant)
Programming languages supported: SZGH proprietary G-code-based robot language; optional off-line programming via import from simulation tools.

Q1: What is the maximum payload of the T1850-D-6, and does it include the weight of the end-effector?
The rated payload is 20 kg. This figure includes the combined weight of the end-effector (gripper, flange, tooling) plus the workpiece. For example, if your gripper weighs 4 kg, the maximum part weight handled should not exceed 16 kg. SZGH provides payload-wrist load diagrams to help you verify compliance for your specific tooling.
Q2: Can the T1850-D-6 operate in a foundry environment with heat and metal dust?
Yes. The robot is rated for ambient temperatures of 5°C–45°C. For foundry environments with radiant heat above 45°C near the arm, users typically install a thermal shield on the lower arm and use a heat-resistant end-effector. IP67-rated cable management options are available. Contact SZGH engineering for high-dust or high-heat cell layouts.
Q3: How does the T1850-D-6 differ from the T1500-C-6 and T2100-E-6?
The T1500-C-6 carries 10 kg with a shorter 1,500 mm reach — suitable for lighter parts in compact cells. The T1850-D-6 doubles the payload to 20 kg and extends reach to 1,850 mm, covering medium-heavy applications. The T2100-E-6 steps up to 50 kg payload for heavy press tending and large-part palletising.
Q4: What mounting modes are supported, and are there special requirements for ceiling mounting?
The T1850-D-6 supports ground, bracket (wall or column), and ceiling mounting. Ceiling mounting requires a reinforced mounting plate rated to at least 3× the robot weight (~750 kg minimum mounting structure). SZGH provides mounting torque specifications and foundation bolt patterns for all configurations.
Q5: What is the typical cycle time for a 1.5-metre pick-and-place move at 20 kg payload?
Under standard conditions (straight-line path, 1.5 m distance, 20 kg load), a typical cycle time is approximately 3.5–4.5 seconds depending on acceleration profile settings and path complexity. Axis 1–3 speeds of 148°/sec and Axis 4–6 speeds of 222°/sec support fast reorientation at both pick and place points.
Q6: Does SZGH offer the T1850-D-6 with a vision system for bin-picking cast parts?
Yes. SZGH offers 2D and 3D vision-guided options for the T1850-D-6. For casting bin-picking, 3D structured-light vision is recommended given the irregular shapes and reflective surfaces of cast parts. Integration with the robot controller is pre-configured; camera, lighting, and calibration are included in the vision package.
Q7: What is the warranty coverage and how is after-sales support provided?
The T1850-D-6 carries a 12-month warranty from the delivery date, covering manufacturing defects in the robot arm and controller. After-sales support is provided via WhatsApp 24/5 (business days) for remote diagnostics, with local service partners in Egypt, USA, Turkey, Romania, Russia, Thailand, and Mexico for on-site support where required.
Q8: Is the T1850-D-6 available for OEM/ODM integration by system integrators?
Yes. SZGH supports OEM and ODM partnerships. System integrators can access the robot's open I/O architecture, detailed mechanical drawings, and controller SDK for custom cell integration. Volume pricing and integrator certification programmes are available. Contact export02@szghtech.com for partnership enquiries.
