Core Advantages

100 kg Payload = Two 50 kg Bags Per Cycle — Throughput Doubles

At 100 kg rated payload, the B2100-F-4 can grip two standard 50 kg chemical or fertilizer bags simultaneously with a single pick-and-place cycle. In a tested configuration with a matched bag-clamp gripper and pallet sensor, full dual-bag placement completes in 4.8 seconds per cycle—a throughput rate that comfortably exceeds the output of the fastest manual packing team while running continuously across 24-hour production schedules.

2,100 mm Reach Covers Dual-Conveyor Layouts from One Position

The 2,100 mm working radius allows a single B2100-F-4 to service two parallel incoming conveyor lines without repositioning. For chemical packaging plants running dual product lines (e.g., 25 kg and 50 kg bag variants), one robot replaces the workforce of both lines. The large reach also accommodates wide pallet patterns where bags must be placed at the far edge of a 1,200 × 1,000 mm pallet.

Eliminates Workers from Hazardous Dust and Corrosive Environments

Chemical raw material and fertilizer bag handling exposes workers to fine-particle dust, ammonia vapour, and caustic compounds that cause cumulative respiratory and skin damage. Regulatory pressure and worker health awareness are making recruitment for these roles increasingly difficult in many markets. The B2100-F-4 removes all manual contact from the palletising station: zero dust inhalation, zero chemical exposure, zero lost-time injury risk at that point in the line.

4-Axis Architecture: Correct for Palletizing, Not Over-Engineered

Heavy-load palletising is a 4-degree-of-freedom task. The B2100-F-4 does not carry the weight, cost, or maintenance burden of two unnecessary wrist axes. Compared to a 6-axis robot of equivalent payload, the B2100-F-4 costs 25–35% less in capital and requires fewer specialised engineers for upkeep. At 650 kg robot weight, the simplified axis structure also means the floor mounting load is distributed more predictably—important for chemical-plant floor planning.

±0.2 mm Repeatability Ensures Stable Pallet Layers at Every Height

Heavy-bag palletising demands consistent bag placement to prevent pallet lean and load collapse during forklift transport. The B2100-F-4's ±0.2 mm joint repeatability, maintained at full 100 kg load across all stack heights, ensures each bag lands within a 0.4 mm position envelope—producing flat, uniform layers from ground level to maximum stack height.

Customer Case Study

By Fannie Chen, CEO, Shenzhen Guanhong Automation Co., Ltd. (SZGH)

A fertilizer packaging plant in Morocco reached out to us facing two converging problems. Their product mix was 25 kg and 50 kg bags of compound fertilizer destined for export across sub-Saharan Africa. Per shift, they needed to palletise approximately 2,000 bags—a physically demanding and health-damaging task due to the continuous fine-dust exposure from fertilizer powder. The second problem was harder to fix with money alone: they were finding it increasingly difficult to recruit workers willing to do this job. Younger workers in their area were choosing lighter work in cities, and the chemical dust issue was creating real occupational health liability.

When we reviewed their line layout, the setup was straightforward: two parallel conveyor lines feeding from the bagging machines, both arriving at a central palletising station. The conveyors were spaced 1.6 m apart—well within the B2100-F-4's 2,100 mm reach from a single base position.

I showed them the key number: the B2100-F-4's 100 kg payload capacity allows it to pick two 50 kg bags in a single gripper cycle. With a matched double-bag clamp gripper and a pallet position sensor, we demonstrated a 4.8 seconds per dual-bag cycle in our factory test cell. For their 2,000-bag-per-shift requirement, two B2100-F-4 units covering both lines gave them significant production headroom with time to spare for pallet changeovers.

The outcome was stark: the customer had been running 8 workers per shift rotating through the palletising station to manage the physical load and dust exposure. After commissioning two B2100-F-4 units, the entire palletising workforce was reassigned—the only person remaining in the station area is a forklift driver managing empty and full pallet logistics. Worker exposure to fertilizer dust at that station went to zero. The recruiting problem was solved permanently—you cannot have a labour shortage for a role that no longer exists.

Their payback period, calculated at two shifts per day with local labour cost assumptions, was under 18 months. They are now evaluating a third unit for a new phosphate bag line under construction.

Control System & Integration Notes

The B2100-F-4 ships standard with the SZGH-CNC Series controller, compatible with:

  • SZGH CNC5 / CNC6 pendant — colour touchscreen, graphical teach programming, no G-code required

  • EtherCAT / Modbus RTU / Profibus — seamless integration with mainstream PLCs (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Delta, Keyence, Omron)

  • I/O expansion board — 24-point digital I/O standard, expandable to 48 points for complex multi-conveyor and pallet-sensor interlocks

  • Bag-orientation sensor interface — direct integration with inline bag-checking sensors to reject mis-oriented bags before gripper contact

  • Pallet pattern editor — onboard pallet-configuration wizard supporting rows × columns × layers programming; supports slip-sheet insertion commands

  • Dual-line synchronisation — controller logic handles alternating pick from two conveyors with collision-free path planning

  • Emergency-stop network — hardwired E-stop chain compatible with chemical plant safety standards

Structural note: The B2100-F-4's ~650 kg body weight requires M20 anchor bolts into 200 mm reinforced concrete flooring. Floor load and anchor templates provided in the installation package.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Can the B2100-F-4 really handle two 50 kg bags at once?

A1. Yes. The robot is rated at 100 kg continuous payload. With a double-bag clamp gripper—which SZGH supplies as an optional matched accessory—the robot picks two 50 kg bags simultaneously per cycle. The gripper design centres the combined load within the robot's rated payload envelope. In our factory test cell, this configuration achieves a 4.8-second cycle time per dual-bag placement.

Q2. Why use a 4-axis robot for heavy bag palletising instead of a 6-axis robot?

A2. Bag palletising requires translation in X, Y, Z and a single rotation to orient the bag flat—four degrees of freedom. A 6-axis robot adds two wrist axes that contribute no value to this task but add significant cost (typically 25–35% premium over equivalent payload) and introduce additional servo drives and mechanical joints that require more frequent maintenance. For high-cycle-count, heavy-load palletising, the 4-axis architecture is the more reliable and cost-effective choice.

Q3. How does the B2100-F-4 handle two conveyor lines from one position?

A3. The 2,100 mm reach and ±150° Axis 1 rotation allow the robot to service two parallel conveyors spaced up to ~1.8 m apart from a single centrally mounted base. The controller runs alternating-pick logic: it monitors bag-ready signals from both line sensors and picks from whichever conveyor has a bag ready, prioritising balance between lines. No robot repositioning or track movement is required.

Q4. Is the robot suitable for chemical and fertilizer dust environments?

A4. The standard B2100-F-4 carries IP54 protection. SZGH recommends the optional IP65 upgrade for direct fertilizer and chemical dust environments. The sealed motor covers, dust-sealed joint seals, and positive-pressure controller cabinet option are available as a package for chemical-industry deployments. The robot's operating temperature range (5°C–45°C) accommodates typical enclosed packaging hall conditions.

Q5. What is the cycle time for standard fertilizer bag palletising?

A5. In a tested configuration with a double-bag clamp gripper and pallet-height sensor at 100 kg total load, the B2100-F-4 achieves approximately 4.8 seconds per dual-bag placement cycle. This equates to roughly 750 dual-picks per hour—or 1,500 individual 50 kg bags per hour per robot—at sustained production speed.

Q6. What floor preparation is required for the B2100-F-4?

A6. The robot weighs approximately 650 kg and generates significant dynamic loads at full cycle speed with 100 kg payload. SZGH recommends M20 anchor bolts into minimum 200 mm reinforced concrete flooring. A floor load calculation worksheet and anchor template drawing are included in the standard installation package. Consult a structural engineer for existing floors with unknown specifications.

Q7. How does SZGH support commissioning in locations like Morocco or Africa?

A7. SZGH regional agents are established in Egypt and Turkey, providing on-site support across North Africa and the Middle East. For West and sub-Saharan Africa, our export team coordinates a commissioning engineer from the nearest agent base. Remote commissioning support via WhatsApp video and controller-log sharing is available for customers with competent local electricians. Full wiring diagrams, PLC interface documentation, and a commissioning checklist are provided with every unit.

Q8. What is the lifespan and major maintenance schedule of the B2100-F-4?

A8. The B2100-F-4 is designed for a 60,000-hour operational lifespan under rated load and temperature conditions. Major maintenance intervals: joint grease replenishment every 5,000 operating hours; servo drive inspection every 10,000 hours; cable loom visual check every 2,000 hours. SZGH provides a maintenance schedule card and spare-parts kit recommendation based on annual operating hours at time of purchase.
